I am hoping someone can help me. I just bought two Merc 7.5 HP engines. Both, ahem, "need work" (maybe basket case would be closer to the truth) and I'm going to start with a manual, but first, if possible, I'd like to know what year they are.<br />First one, long shaft, s/n 4854918<br />Second one, short shaft, s/n 5617249<br /><br />Would parts from these two be interchangeable? The long shafter is locked up and missing most of it's ignition system. The short shafter turns over, but no spark. Both look an absolute mess. <br /><br />I'm sure I'll be back with more questions, because you guys always come through!<br />Thanks again in advance, Rich
