I recently bought a prop for my 15hp Mariner. I was told the motor is a 1989 model but after some research it looks like about 1983. My model number is 15CE 684 CL 550255. The prop I purchased is 8 spline and is close to fitting but the bushing is about .010 too tight and the flats of the spline are slightly wider. Is this the difference between later and newer model mariner props?

Re: Year of motor

My guess is your motor is prior to 89.props appear different 89 up.
there appears to be a propeller gap 86-88.
While there appears to be some model differences 76-85 it seems they all use the same prop.
