Hi i have been wanting to know the year of this fiarly new johnson i picked up. the model number is j8rst(5) or (s). and the sn is 07004865. it is an 8.0 and has the key so im guessing it is fialry new motor but it runs great with no problems at all so far.

thank you is there some certain site you use to decode the year i know that the j is for johnson the 8 is for hp and rs is for rope start so what is the ts stand for the year?

the last three characters are the year + model run. Drop the the last character and use.
