It's time to redo the deck of my 1993 Tracker Pro-Deep-V 17 aluminum side console boat.

So far, i've teared the carpet, removed the old plywood (had to cut all of the screws from under) and removed at least 200 pounds of waterlogged poured-in foam (3 big orange garbage bags).

I plan to clean the hull real good, seal all the seams and rivets with Gluvit and replacing the deck with 5/8 Douglas fir exterior plywood sealed with epoxy. Instead of the carpet, i'll put some marine vinyl flooring on it and fastened it with ss screws sealed with 5200.

My questions are: is it ok to replace the foam with 1,5 inch blue foam? If so, should the layers of foam be glued togheter with PL or something else? And what should i do to provide drainage? Is it ok to bond some 6 inch strip of 1/4 x 1/4 aluminum to the bottom of the hull with epoxy? I plan to put them each side of the centerline (parallel to the aluminum brackets) and the foam will sit on them...Any better ideas?
