Alright folks, it's the middle of June and this forum seems dead. Let's get some messages posted in here.
Yesterday, I took the Maxum 1800MX 30 miles up the Delaware River from around Camden, NJ to Bordentown, NJ for NJWakefest. Neither myself nor any of my passengers ever wakeboarded but it seemed like it would be a good time regardless. And it was. I got to pull my son on the tube for the first time and we watched some excellent wakeboarders. Unfortunately, I was the only Maxum there as 9 out of 10 boats were Mastercrafts.
Anyhow, here's the Maxum related part. About 3 weeks ago I broke the prop on the water and had to have a new one delivered. I called around to get prop specs and was told 14.5x19 which is what was delivered and installed. Yesterday morning I found out that the boat is supposed to have a 14.25x21 so I checked and the broken prop is a 14.25x21 so I bought one (Hustler) but it hit the trim tab so I put the 19 back on. Is this a problem with Hustler props or am I going to have this problem with any (non-Merc) prop I buy?
The whole trip was probably 70 miles and I burned a full tank of fuel as we ran just shy of 40mph the whole way up and back.
