My 1994 regal rush jetboat is on the fritz and I'd like to fix it myself. I have had problems in the past couple seasons with very rough starts after the engine was warm but this weekend it wouldn't start at all. I took it out Friday just after installing a new starter. The stator was replaced about five years ago. It ran pretty rough at first but then started to act better (hadn't run since last year). Fresh 50:1 plus a can of seafoam in the tank. I did notice that it wanted to cut out when turning tight. I took it out of the water after running it hard for several minutes and put it back in the next
day. Seemed to run a little better and didn't act like it wanted to
cut out on tight turns as best I can recall. For the record, it
started right up both days with no hesitation. Docked it and went
back down a bit later to take it out to the beach with the pontoon.
It then refused to fire although it turned over fine. I don't think that it even tried to fire although a couple times sounded like it for a split second. Didn't have the time to check for spark but the bottom two spark plugs appeared to be dry even after cranking for a long time. Maybe a fuel pump problem? The filter appeared to be clean. Any ideas on what to check?
I'd really appreciate any help.
