Yet another Mercury ID question

I have an old mercury 3hp(?)serial #k2-1393, no known model #. The gas tank looks like a toilet seat with the flywheel-rope pully being in the middle of the tank. The rope pully is where all the information(along with Mercury, Kiehaefer Corp. and Cedarburg, WI USA) was located. Any info on what year it is or where to look for such info greatly apprieciate.PDS PS Merry Christmas to all
