Yet another Serial # Question

Classic Fifty - 45 hp Ser # OC121058. Numerically I think this is a '87 motor but what is the sigificance of the OC out front? Thanks!

The "OC" is just an extension of the serial number that started with "0A" then "OB" etc Prior to that there were no letters.. Just 5***** the 6***** The lists don't show the "0"<br /> http://www.marineparts.com/partspages/techhelp/TECH15.HTM
