Hi all.
In my quest for a very lightweight and reliable outboard motor I have found a dealer near where I live that has a sale on new Yamaha 2.5 hp 4 stroke for $849 Canadian $.(~ $700 US)
I have previously asked your opinions on used and old Johnson/Evinrude OB motors and we came to the conclusion that in my case I would be better of with a new motor(reliability was the main issue) so here I am looking for your advice on this new motor,it's a four stroke engine with neutral/reverse drive.the boat I have is a 12 ' Aluminum fishing boat.
What is your opinion on this motor?I have heard small motors like this get too hot even with their water cooled system, if true, does it matter? is the size alright for the boat plus my wife but mostly just me riding alone, no other extra weight added?
Are Honda motors more reliable ?
