I'm in the middle of restoring my small 14ft fiberglass boat. I took 4 seats out of the boat to go get re upholster and they want 800$. I was completely shocked. A local marine retailer said I can get plastic swivel chairs for around 35$ each. Anyone use them?

Any other cheap ideas?

I have them in my fishing boat and they are ok for $35.
You can get 4 brand new upholstered seats that are quite nice for less than $100 a piece. You can get them for much cheaper (around $40) but they dont look as good and i would be concerned about quality....
If you have some pics, upload them on here and we can help you out a little better.

I ordered two seats from Veada.com a few weeks ago and they arrived today. They seem to use mostly Attwood frames and you can choose any color combination your heart desires. I was originally looking for the cheapest seats I could find but ended up buying their high back centric's for $120 each.

Obviously can't comment on how they hold up but they are certainly top quality and at a great price. Stitching is clean, foam is very sturdy yet comfortable, great lumbar support. They were also cheaper than stock colors.

By the way, if you are looking for pedestals, Springfield Marine sells all they're damaged deliveries, etc. on their website at GREAT prices.

Everyone's opinion of what is comfotable is different. Go to the store and have them get out a wooden box to set the seats on and sit in all of them until you find the right ones. Personally I think the folding plastic padded seats were the best for under a $100 apiece

There is a very good selection of seats right here at iboats. The sales are what keeps this forum afloat and free. Check them out first. ;)

What fisherdan posted were what I was talking about. They were the most comfortable one's that I sat in at the store, and the cheapest. I love them and fish all day from them.
