YouTube Lied...It is not "Just that easy" to drop the LU on my '86 Mercury 75

Lower Unit.jpg

In the picture the threaded bolt on the left (front of motor) had easy to remove nut
Not in the picture is one bolt under the trim tab. Also easily removed.
The only other bolts that I can see that might hold this LU is the one visible in the middle of the picture and its counter part on the opposite side. These two bolts are cover over the top by the upper motor and the nuts cannot be removed as it is.
With both of the "recessed" nuts loosened to their max and the front and rear bolt removed, the LU is as rock solid as ever. I don't want to damage it banging around on it trying to break it free if it is still being held by more bolts...which is what it feels like.... I just feel like I am missing 2 or more bolts but I have no idea where they would be hiding.
What do you think

from what I remember, on my 50 Merc there are one on each side that you can see, one under the anode, and the other is down from the top with a long extension at the peak facing rearward. If you have those all out, it's just stuck which is known to happen. The driveshaft is a slip joint, sometimes it gets stuck.

Thanks. The two nuts that dont have enough clearance to get off...I guess once the LU is freed up, I will drop it down as far as those two nuts will allow and then remove them? Also, is there a "recommended" spot to whack it in trying to free it?

Exactly. Remove the other two nuts and it should slide down enough to get the first two nuts off. Also, note that the anode IS NOT the bolt holding the lower unit it off. You need to remove it which will then expose the nut that actually has to come off.

There's also one recessed on the underside of the AV plate, between the anode and the trailing edge of the gearcase housing.

There are 2 more recessed bolts forward of the anode. You really have to be looking for them....once they are out...its just like YouTube. I got the new water pump in and engine back together in 40 minutes.
