OK replaced my guage with new hooked up to new sending unit, hooked up ground to gauge, sender to guage, and power to guage. Guage not working.... .. noticed i sent power to the sending unit post on the guage... ....corrected and still ng...when i ground out the sender post on the guage the needle jumps to full.. tank is grounded to fill tub/guage is grounded to timer switch ,power comes from ignition, all work... I just ordered a new sending unit, im thinking i fried it when i hooked up the power to the wrong post on the guage.. but ... would that have sent power down to the sending unit?????

Take the sender wire at the tank and ground it to see if the gauge pegs full, then you know the wire and guage are OK. Not sure what you mean by "tank is grounded to fill tub/guage is grounded to timer switch"?
