it seems that there is an inherent problem with leaky fill valves on this unit. (1993) I have replaced the valves and they still leak. Bad design. Is there a fix for these valves? Can the rubber be softened? Any help would be appreciated.

Inflate sib to correct pressure, apply soapy water on different valve parts to see exiting air bubbles. Maybe loosing presure by the middle valve o'ring instead of delrin valve, if so apply a thin coat of silicone oil to o'ring and tight/adjust properly to lower valve. Are you using the upper valve screw on cap ?
