I have twin 250 four strokes (2006) on my center console and am having a tough time with the zincs on the starboard engine. They show excessive corrosion and have to be replaced at twice the rate as the port engine. The zinc above the prop goes quickly. Could the source of this problem also be causing corrosion problems on other metal parts of the boat.....i.e the motor bracket, steering column, etc. ? The boat is a 2006 as well and should not be having this type of problem. I keep it on the trailer , use in salt water and rinse/wash completely after every use. Any ideas?

Re: Zinc anodes

Seems very strange that your going through zincs so fast especially since you trailer your boat. I have heard of cases where an improperly grounded wire or If for some strange reason a positive wire is touching a ground that leads to the water it may be causing some serious electrolysis.

Since the boat is so new it is probably under warranty did you mention to the dealer your issues?
