Re: need a good range rover forum
How to correctly adjust the power steering box on a Range Rover:

With the wheels in the
straight ahead position, turn the steering wheel and measure how far
it turns before resistance is felt - any more than 1in calls for
adjustment.

Raise both front wheels off the ground and
support the Land Rover on axle stands, taking safety precautions....
The vehicle front wheel must be off the ground so that you can turn
the steering over the full extent of its travel.

Use a 19mm spanner to release the locknut then
adjust, using a 6mm Allen key. turn the steering wheel from lock to
lock, and then back to the centre. If you can feel any 'tight' spots,
the steering is too tight and the Allen key should be backed off until
no stiffness can be felt, turning the steering several times over the
full extent its travel.
Once the correct amount of adjustment has
been attained, hold the Allen key in position while you tighten the
locknut. This requires some care, as it's easy to turn the Allen key
at the same time.
