We have inherited a late 1959 70 HP outboard Evinrude with a cracked fuel line port...does anyone know how much it would cost to have something like that repaired? We are trying to sell it on ebay but need more information about it...

You first need to find out what it is you are selling. There's no such thing as a 1959 70hp Evinrude. Post a model number and we'll tell you what it is. Also, a little confusing is the "fuel line port". A better descripton might tell us what is broken.

That'd be a really, really rare Evinrude. So rare that it doesn't exist. Look on the transom mount for a model number and share that with us, and we'll tell you what it is that you have. The largest outboard by Evinrude in 1959 was a 50 hp V-4.

There are quite a few of those around and they don't bring a premium price, even in good running condition, although they're excellent engines.

As for the part, if you can describe it better, by telling us just where on the engine it is and what it looks like, or with a photo, that would help, too.
