Goodyear Sea Bee

I recently aquired a 1.5hp Goodyear that has no spark. The model number is D25-3562 and the serial number is 256683. Any idea as to the year this motor was made? Any idea where I can find a condensor for it? I would like to try to get it running just for the fun of it. Thanks

3562 is a 48-49 limited production 48-49,49-50.
Based on the Gale 1G5 My 57 Gale factory manual doesn't list the 1G5.
Does list the Sea Bee.Condensers seldom fail;have you cleaned and adjusted the points?You might check the compression anything near 60 psi would be pretty good on that little rascal.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I mispoke. I meant to say the coil, not the condenser. The most i have done is check for spark, I have yet to remove the flywheel. Any idea what the gap should be between the points and the condenser? Any idea where points/coil can be purchased?

Have you ever worked on a magneto?
They are pretty simple.I don't have specs that far back but 99.9% of points are set at .020.Clean and adjust with them at the high point of the cam.
Those old style coils seldom fail as well.Probably the best bet for parts would be at www.aomci.org The Antique Outboard Motor Club.There is a free classifieds.Also good help.

Boy you were right. The points were totally gunked up. I cleaned them up and i have all the spark I need now. Thanks for the help. The next step is to take the carb apart, things that should move freely are not. The carb is a Tillotson MD11A.
