We don't need all of those fancy weather forcasts over here, we stand at the bottom of a hill and look up, if you can't see the top of the hill it means it's raining, if you can see the top it means it's going to rain.

Actually the next weather complaint will be frost (which happens the first weekend of September) followed by snow ....... lot's of snow.

Tell me a way and you can have it. Trashing the roads (VT has over 40% dirt roads too), preventing the farmer's from getting their first (hay) cut, flash floods...... Grrrrrrr

We can`t win for loosing. Last year this time we were flooding bigtime. Now thier are dozers running all over this country, cleaning out the stock tanks that have dried up. We had a 2 day break from the heat and a 1/2 " rain when the tropical storm Edward came through, other than that it has been 15 days of 100+ temps. Send your excess down it will be apreciated.

It has rained 30 miles north of us, 30 miles south of us, 30 miles east of us, and 30 miles west of us, but it refuses to rain ON us! It just ain't right! I bought a new mower a month ago and have only gotten to mow once with it, and then the grass was already dead ... just did it because I just got a new mower!

It's not just the heat or the dry range.

My new tank holds about 90,000bbl of water. It only takes about a 2" downpour on its watershed to fill it. Every time it fills I can sell 60,000bbl to the gas drillers @$.10/bbl.

The other half is that when my tank is low (gotta leave some for the deer and horses) the gas drillers are pumping about 10gal/minute out of our local aquafir and two of the three wells that supply our community water system have gone dry.

With the amount of water needed by gas drilling operations we are getting close to what the old timers are predicting: Soon water will cost more in Texas than oil.

The bonanza of the Barnett Shale discovery is turning out to be a double edged blade.

bob you see we almost got a tornado down here the other day.. it took like 2 hours to move into the sound.. i personally have not seen any hail yet but everyone around us has gotten it.. uncle said he woke up from a nap moved the van inside(which hes never done before in his life) just as he closed the garage door the golf ball size hail came down.. Its actually raining right now. who wants it???

The weather is calling for more rain all week with more flooding and washouts today.....

Lake Champlain is at a new record level for August too.....

Art most of our rain had come from cold fronts from the north running into the warm air here. Giving us lots of thunder storms and nasty weather. Not the same as a steady rain but it has been enough to keep us from drought.
Bring your mower up here, If I didnt know better I would swear someone fertilized the grass.

We"re so freek'n dry it hurts.......middle of a severe drought............no measurable rain the the last 4 weeks............daily temps in the mid to upper 90's...................with the occasional jump to 100+ for good measure

Sounds about like our weather, LT. But what makes it so frustration is all the towns AROUND us have had MORE than the average rainfall in the last 2 1/2 months, but we have had WAY less than average ... it just ain't right! The other day it POURED less than 5 miles away, but not a drop here! That has been our summer so far!
