"How easy" is a relative term. How much grease are you putting on the bar? You want a very slight coating -with none on the nose.

The outdrive will never just slide on. There is an o-ring that needs to go through the gimbla bearing. That will often require a "kicK - "nudge" - "push" - "shove" whatever you want to call it. Now it shouldn't take two people, but it always takes some "persuasion." ;) Be sure to grease the o-ring or it can be very difficult to install.

Re: allignment help

hey fishermark.

yes i greased it. the only reason i say took two people was because one held it and the other pushed... once i got the up to the bolts the the drive lined up it slid right in.

My main concern is my alignmet job... i was getting grease marks all along the bar and it slid in and out with a little tug and pull..

based on this would you say its good??

does it take a slignt mis-alignment to ruin a coupler or does the engine have to really be out of alignment (the bar wont even go in) to realy screw up a coupler

Bottom line - if the bar goes all the way in with minimal effort and the lines are even all the way around, then it sounds like you are good to go. The outdrive issue you understand now - put your mind at ease and enjoy the boat!
