First welcome to iboats
What is the weight of the boat? or at least the year so i can look it up.
The truck in stock form is good for 8200 lbs.
Id think you will be good, but the taller sidewalls on the tires will cut down the capacity some. I dont think the gearing is bad.
The only thing i see is the tires on the truck, it may feel a little wishy-washy if the sidewalls are tall. then again if you have 22" wheels you havent got much sidewall at all.
What load rating are the tires?

you should have no problem pulling it at all if your class 3 hitch has the right rating on it since you can buy class 3 with anywhere from 5,000lbs to 10,000lbs. you prob wont even know its there just make sure you get a deep enough drop for your draw bar so your trailor tounge is level.

Class 3 hitch is max 5000 lb. Barely adequate.

Your boat is 3300 dry, plus fuel and gear, and another 1000 for the trailer= almost 5000 lbs.

I would invest in a class IV.

The truck F150 will be fine.

If it is hte stock hitch that came on the truck towing package, it is a class IV. He should be just fine pulling that boat...

baileysboat, i worked on installing hitches and towing for 3 years a class 3 does not only have a max of 5000lbs. do some research and you will find class 3 with 10,000lbs with 12,000 lbs weight distribution.

For that boat I cant imagine that full of fuel and loaded to the gills its over 6000 lbs. You should do fine.
Make sure the brakes are in good working order and all the rest of the trailer for that matter.
10-15% tounge weight and roll on.
Take it easy getting up to speed the first time or 5 just to see how the tall tires are going to like a trailer.
Then use common sence, Leave enought following distance and then leave some more.
