tilt switch??? OMC 1978

1978 OMC 235 stern drive. stern drive stuck at down position. took apart tilt system found out tilt shaft broken. replaced tilt shaft - o rings - gasket. put everything back together. sanded down connection for solenoids and reconnected. flick tilt switch up and down still making a clicking noise only.

do anyone know if the solenoids or relay or 50 amp fuse is bad?

if the solonioids are making noise then your fuse is good, sounds like you have a motor issue. Check for power at the motor with the switch up or down also check for proper ground. On the sticky thread there is a link to download the manual, I did this and it is very helpful as I have the same set up you do.

if the solonioids are making noise then your fuse is good,.

The relays would click with the 50A fuse open
the 50A fuse only feeds the heavy circuit for the tilt, not the relay trigger

? not sure what you are asking

you should check the 50A fuse and clean it with some steel wool or emery cloth
you can get those fuses at car stereo shops and here is a schematic (older year but similar)
