If you use a torch to heat nuts up before you back them off with the air impact, do you need to replace the nuts or the bolts (they are grade 8)

Ayuh,... Unless replacements can't be had, I would...

Instead of heating the nuts red, hittin' it with the impact,...
Heat it red, quench it with water,.. Then pen-oil,+ the impact...

I've removed nuts that no longer looked like nuts doin' it the quench way....

I would replace as a matter of course any stubborn ones no matter what the grade.
Just my 2 cents though.

If you using propane it's 1 thing.
But if your torching grade 8's to 1500F+ degrees, quenching or not, you have essentially changed the metalurgy of the alloy and they are no longer grade 8.

Yup, if you heat it it takes the case-hardening (tempering ) out of it. Plus, HEY, they're old crappy bolts, otherwise you wouldn't need the torch.:D

YES, old and crappy bolts for the most part, just seeing if I can save a few bucks-those bolts are expensive in this little one horse town. ;)
