87 Starcraft 16SS

Hi guys I've been checking out your great site and had too log in. I'm from Maine and have been boating for 40 years.I had this great boat given to me from a very good friend . He had it at his camp just sitting at the dock for the last 21 years. The trailer was used twice every year. I need to do a lot of work to The boat but I'm very excited about fixing it up.

You are lucky as the external looks good. The interior is not bad to do . I just finished a complete restro on my 1975 16 SS.

Thanks guys. The floor is getting soft and the electronics don't work at all. The motor has been running great until this week. I've got a burnt wire and don't know what it's for but the motor still runs.
I may start a rebuild this winter. How can I get the stickers off the side of the boat before painting?

Try a hot hair dryer or a heat gun. However stripper will remove it but you probably dont want to take it down that far to repaint. I took my 16 almost to bare aluminum and that was a h-- of a job as well as paint things needed to refinish it.

This is the rough side of the boat ,that was resting on the dock. The stripes and emblem is what I'd like to remove,to replace.
