Hey guys it's me again the newbie to boats feel like am swamping you with questions sorry next time I no about getting project boat.. Here's my question. I got a 1978 cobalt ford 351 v8. Question is am I suppose to hear the fuel pump make some sort of noise when I turn the key? I don't hear a single wind up or a peep it's silent. Also we're is it located having trouble locating it to test it with my volt meter? After I figure out the fuel situation am sure I will be able to fire it up finally. Thanks ahead if time.

ok was leaning that way because it bolted to the engine block.. how would you test to see if its working properly? what I was going to do was disconnected the pipe going into the carberator and see if gas would flow during ignition start up.

That's one way. Best way is to put a tee in the line and attach a pressure gauge to see what the pressure is at under load.
