What Is It?

The bracket and air fitting shown in the picture was attached to the top of my Alpha One sterndrive. It is clearly an air hose coupler, but its just a dead fitting, there is nothing connected to the back of it. Can anyone tell me what this was for?

Thanks

Pics are not working in the forum...but if it's going into the port side of the drive, it's likely for a drive fluid reservoir.

Not sure how to describe it without a picture but its not a fitting for an oil reservoir. I have seen a picture of what you are describing. This is a U shaped stainless steel bracket that was attached to the back of the drive using the four upper bolts that hold on the back of the drive. It has a 90 degree elbow welded to the bracket with an air hose fitting attached to the elbow.

Home made bracket to connect a rod between the outdrive and an auxilary / kicker motor to permit steering of the kicker from the helm? Air line fittings used for their quick connect / disconnect function?

that is a bracket for a kicker motor so you can use the main engine/drive steering system to steer the kicker motor
