So nobody can see those pictures I put up? hmm that sucks. Well, anyways, finally got it all put back together. The speed sleeves worked like I imagined they would. I ended up using some fine sand paper and cleaning up the cam as well as I could before I installed the speedi sleeves. I ordered all new gaskets from go2marine.com (Timing chain cover, impeller cover, triangular hose cover). All parts came fast and order was very accurate. One thing I fudged up on the reassembly was installing the rotor before the motor mount. I didn't really even have to take the motor mount off the engine in the first place, I realized halfway in that I had plenty of room to work without removing it. Anyway, I installed the rotor only to realizeI had to remove it again to install the motor mount. Overall, what seemed like a daunting task ended up being pretty simple, slightly tedious, but in the end I learned a lot and appreciate all the help I got from this forum. Time to drop some crab pots.
