It's a 90 degree looper. Carb versions were made from 1986 up through 2001, the last year they were built as Johnsons. Solid engines at the time. The cowling is maybe not a stock OMC offering. Possible it was supplied by the old Land "N Sea associate of OMC-called "Second Effort." That was their high performance ally during that time. If there were any other Land "N Sea high performance parts on that engine, that would make it pretty unusual. Maybe one of the looper experts can comment.. What does the lower unit look like? Low water pickup?
