Sea Ray dealer says I need a new ECM for 5.0 MPI

Will a ECM from a 6.2L bravo work? The number for the 6.2 L is ECM 5550204 same as mine now but I have a 5.0 L

The Part may be the same, but the programming in it would be 'tuned' for the engine. Have you had any luck with the aftermarket suppliers or getting yours repaired?

I'm going to send it off to whipper and have it repaired. That 6.2 L ECM on eBay start bid is 100 if anyone needs one

Yes its $500.00 and they are upfront with you about it. Said sometimes they can't fix them. Its $100.00 for them to look at it and if they can fix it its $500.00 plus shipping. I next day shipped it to them on Monday and they called me on Wednesday said it was fixed and asked how I wanted ship it back. had it back on Friday. Jeff at whipple is very nice and talked in detail about Mercruiser ECM with me. Would recommend everyone to use them!
