This last weekend the wife and I took out our boat we just bought a 1987 Four Winns Candia 170 deck boat with a mercruiser 3.7 165 and alpha one out drive while moving over some to let another boat pass we hit a stump or something and bent the prop. I never had to replace a prop before as far as what one to use it had a solas 14x21 four blade on it should I just go back to that one we only cruise around with it and do some fishing with the grandkids but nothing fast and I dont plan on towing anything as far as tubes or a skier.
Just wanted to get and idea either go back to what was on it or something a little better for economical reasons.
Thanks

i would put the same back on - that pitch and being a 4 blade sounds reasonable for what you want.

Agree with mitzysman if your not having any issues or concerns, should be getting around 4400 rpm WOT. I would just fix the one you have, usually cheaper then buying another unless you find a used one.

what everyone said,, also if you fish.........think about getting a fish finder with shallow water alarm...I've got one on my Hummingbird 587 hd ci,, have it set for 6 feet.........it's nice to hear that chirp off if your not paying attention to your depth while drifting along or under power.............just a thought..
