searched locally for " semi-liquid" grease for a badly leaking gearcase, no luck. has anyone tried white lithium for this caveman style "fix"? before anyone asks why not reseal it......the motor should be scrapped, but the owner would like to run it til its dead.

Gee, how about SAE 140 gear oil? Maybe that will slow down the leaks. The gears and bearings will still get some lubrication.

Check with a Petroleum distributor....find the product you need, ask them who they sell it to, and see if you can buy a liter or two from them.

sort of did that....uap/napa sells castrol products, castrol makes a semi liquid, self leveling grease, but they wont order a case of it because it will sit on the shelf indefinitely. same deal with 7mm metalic core plug wire.....they wont stock a roll because it sits for years before its all sold. looks like its gunna be white lithium grease with a curb n gutter warrantee!

NAPA sells Lubriplate 105 under their part number 765-2651, and calls it "Motor Assembly Grease". Comes in a handy squeeze tube. Failing that, try to find some NLGI #0 or #00 grease. Maybe Canadian Tire???

Gee, I am pretty sure I can get SAE 140 at any Pep Boys. I had thought it would be more available to you.

cornhead grease from your local john deere implement store

its what we use on old truck steering boxes that leak. if your leaking the 75/90 wt out, you will eventually leak out 140 wt.
