What do you think about this boat?

I have no idea who built her and would be surprised if she was built by a 'nationally known' manufacturer, possibly by a regional (N.W.) builder - by her looks. I'll have to admit that (to me) she is a bit quirky in her styling, but if you can get past that she seems to have a lot to offer for her length. Things look orderly and cared for.

It's all about condition on an ancient boat like that. Have a complete survey done on the hull and mechanicals, compression check etc.
Old boat, old motor with high hours could be a project waiting to happen.

Reinell is now owned by Campion based in British Colombia. Campion has been building boats for 40 years.

Thanks for the info. Im not at all bothered by her weird looks. I think its a lot of boat for the size, but I think the $7900 is a little high, but probably due to the trailer and ding w outboard being thrown into the deal

Here is a similar one for half the price, but I really don't like the idea of a twin engine.....

Ahh, Thank you, I certainly know the name Reinel, just didn't realize they built something like this (though it does have some characteristics of Reinel). - I'm not sure how big they are on the east coast anymore.
-- At least I did have the Pacific N.W. look pegged correctly! lol

Yeah, Im 100% certain on getting the marine inspection. What do those cost anyways? $300-$400?

Is the fuel tank accessible? I'm in the process of replacing the aluminum water and gas tank in my 1979 26' Commander, a flybridge sedan, and it's enough of a PITA that I would shy away from any older boat without tank access or proof that the tanks had been replaced. Other than that it looks like a nice old boat.

It looks like a Nice boat! At $5900 it seems like a Great "Bang for the Buck!" As long as all appears good, & the survey checks out.

Almost looks too good to be true, if the survey is good and you like the boat I say jump on it like a duck on a June bug!

All seriousness aside . . . Yea, that thing is a total 'chick magnet'.

I think it could be had for $4K. it will probably need a fair amount of maintenance along the way, just based on the age of everything. 1400 engine hours is up there . . .

Being a little clueless in the "big boat" world - is that gizmo (with the eyepiece) at the salon helm a navigation device or is is a "periscope" of sorts for seeing outside to steer? I've never seen that before.

Structural Survey / Moisture Test on that boat will be about $600. Mechanical survey about $300-$500 if you add leakdown test for sterndrive

MMMM, Sweat!
About the only thing I would be wary about for that price is the transom, ask the owner when the last time he had to get it surveyed for insurance purposes ( usually every 5 years) and if you need to get it surveyed it has to come out of the water.
I also wonder when he had the anti corrosion system checked over?

(and the periscope thingy is the monitor for the radar system)

That woulda' been a guess in the list somewhere ... but, just a guess. Thank ya' sir.
HAHA, me to! It was a toss up between the monitor or one of those old DC TVs, but since I did not see a radar monitor anywhere I went with that.
