I hit a stump and bent my prop this weekend. Well it was only slightly bent so i replaced it but I think I might have bent my prop shaft. can you remove the shaft with out taking the whole out drive off? Im really mechanically inclined so is this something I can tackle or will I need special tools?

Clamp a micrometer gage to the lower gearcase, position it so the micrometer pickup is touching the prop shaft so you can check the prop shaft run out to see if it's bent as it it rotated.

Call around. I bent my prop shaft a couple of years ago, and a local repair shop straightened mine. I think it was 150 bucks. That SX drive is built so solid, that they straighten the shaft without having to pull it.
