Best places to find replacement upper and lower unit

Last summer I hit a rock pile in a major way and am pretty much looking at just replacing the whole upper and lower outdrive and looking for some pointers on where to find used replacement ( thinking guy with good boat that wrecked engine ) to start. I didn't have insurance on the boat. Also cant afford to buy new for 7k. Boat is a 99 regal 2150 lsc with the 4.3 Volvo Penta, any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I hate it for you, I'm in the same boat. Literally.
I had to just buy two new transom shields and I'm currently looking for duo prop out drives to finish my boat.
Is yours an sx or a dp? Either way bend over, they are proud of these things. I'm fixing to just bite the bullet and order two return units off eBay to a tune of 5 grand each. It sucks but I'm ready to put the boat back in the water.

Ayuh,..... I'd be thinkin' a hull of that vintage, with a runnin' driveline, 'n a rotten transom,...... '99s are gettin' old enough,...
Or,...
A hull of yer vintage drive, with a frozen busted motor next Spring,....

Craigslist is probably the Best place to start lookin',....

Volvos are expensive,.... The SEI aftermarket drives, Destroyed the Merc replacement market,....
An Alpha ain't even worth rebuildin' anymore,...
Run it til it pukes, 'n bolt on a brand new drive for $1,500.....

I`d say search around on Ebay. Several vendors there that carry a variety of Volvo lower units.
