Inboard/V drive prop shaft runout

I have a slight vibration in a Sundancer 340, twin V drives. I see a slight wobble to the port shaft where it comes through the log at the seal. I assume if I see it with naked eye, it's too much but what is the spec? I con't find anything published....

Also, who straightens shafts in the Baltimore MD area?

0.001" wobble is acceptable..

Your issue can be coming from a worn cutlass bearing, bent shaft, prop or misalignment. To check alignment loosen the bolts are check the face surface as in the pic below, you should have 0.003 max. Check the gap all around the flange face. If the shaft is bent make sure to sand down the shaft before you attempt to pull it out. Use soap or oil on the cutlass bearing.

Don't know a repair shop in MD but look for a prop repair place on line or in the yellow pages and ask them, they should know
