Hi,
any input appreciated.

I have a 1998 21 foot SunTracker party deck... An all aluminum v hull deck boat, not the pontoon party barge.
The 120hp Tracker by mercury is blown and probably damaged midsection as well. Im looking at buying a 200hp mercury offshore 25" shaft model to put on it.

The boat is rated for 150hp,

can you go over some on the hp rating?

is the engine too heavy?

Will my commander 3000 series controls work with this engine also?

this could be a problem. takes a pretty hard lick ta break that stuff "in or out" of tha water....did transom have any damage? needs a really close-up check out before ya put "anything" on it......

big weight difference 120 and 150/200...not much difference in 150/200 weight....25" will be heavier, more problematic with set up/motor height. not a good idea.....

controls should work.....

being a "tracker product" wouldn't do more than tha 150 ..........jmo

I had a 225 3 liter on my little checkmate for a few days. Little too heavy for that thing . Sold it to a guy who put it on a 21 foot sun tracker. Last I heard he was still alive but he did put another pontoon shell in the center. to keep it afloat.
