Hey guys, getting my spring upgrades ordered for my boat so that it will be ready when I bring her home from storage. One of those upgrades is to replace the spark plugs in my 5.7GXI-J engine .Volvo charts show part number 21467472, for a package of 4, at about $12.00 per plug. I believe these are made by Champion.

I remember from reading previous posts that there are perhaps better made, cheaper alternatives made by AC and/or NGK and maybe even some others. Can you guys give me some numbers for alternative plugs. Thanks.

Ayuh,..... If yer motor is Pre-Vortec, pre-'96, with 12 intake bolts, use AC Delco MR43T plugs,....

If post '96, with 8 intake bolts, a Vortec headed motor, I believe the number is MR43TLS,....

The Vortec head spark plugs are 'bout 1/8" longer,....

The plug number you posted shows to be AC-Delco 41-101 and your best bet is to stay with AC-Delco 41-101. If you research the number you can find them either online or in an auto parts store between the high $5.00 to low $8.00 range for each plug. Even iboats sells them. http://www.iboats.com/Search/dm/?key...rch_submit.y=1

Here are some other plug numbers that would work too but it's best to stay with what you have. But before ordering, if possible, jump in the boat and pull one plug out to see what's in there.
