Hi all
I've picked up a transom shield and a 290sp out drive to replace the one I have on. But the one I pick up was off a 4 cylinder volvo Penta and I've got a 6 cylinder. Would this be ok to bolt straight on?? The transom shield that's on the boat now has corrosion. All so does the motor need to come out for this
Cheers

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... The gear ratio will be different, if you can prop it right, it oughta work,....

Yes, the drive comes off, then the motor comes out, Then ya change out the transom assembly,.....

Thanks for that I was afraid that someone was going to say that with the motor needing to come out as well

I've also got a problem with the leg I've got on now is that when I throttle in reverse nothing happens for about 30 to 40 seconds but after it warms up the delay gets shorter
Forward is not a problem
The boat was out of the water about 7 months ago and had the oil changed in the leg
This is a Volvo Penta 290 sp leg
