25 HP merc mariner squeeling sound from drive shaft

Newbie with my first boat and motor here. Was tinkering with the motor (1989 Mariner)- started it with the garden hose and the part that covers the intakes, and got an intermittent squeeling sound from the driveshaft area. I took the prop off and noticed a spacer between the prop and keel that looked little worn, but nothing to the point that I would've thought would make that noise. Other than that, the motor ran great. Any thoughts or ideas?

Ayuh,.... The prop should touch nothin' but the prop shaft,.....

My guess is, the prop's thrust hub is missin',....
