I had the same issue found in the post below and replaced the cover as described however I can't get the trim all the way up to hold stiff. Hope someone can give me some tips.

After replacing the cover I added fluid and moved the leg up and down a few times to get it to self bleed. I found that opening the seal plug from after moving up and down would let some air go so I worked this out a few times. The leg starts going down slow and at some point goes down faster while going up is very slow.

The leg goes all the way up after a while however its not holding stiff, when you press down it moves a bit (2 inches movement).

I believe I still have a bit of air in the lines. Any tips on alternative to bleed the lines to remove the air trapped?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Are ya keepin' the reservoir full as yer doin' the bleed,..??

If you disconnect the rams from the drive, does the drive freely lift up, 'n fall down,..??

If rams are disconnected the leg is free. The reservoir is full, I mean, I pump fluid all the way till some of it come out but every time I open, a bit of pressured air comes out and the fluid inside is bubbly.

Are you making sure to move the drive to the full down position? Not almost all the way down, but fully down? I have to jack my trailer up to get mine all the way down. In the completely down position, the fluid level should be to the very top of the fill hole. Fill it up, put the cap on and run it full up to full down 4 or 5 times. Then full down and check the level again. Do this until the fluid level stays at the top of the fill hole. A drive creeping down (with no visible fluid leaks anywhere) is almost always a low fluid issue.

Thank you! I was not doing this... I don't even think I had it fully down without jacking my trailer and I know I will need it because if I don't jack the leg will touch the ground.

I will get some time to do this and will post the results.

If you lower the trailer tongue as far as it will go, you won't have to jack up the rear of the trailer very much to get the drive fully down.

I was just dealing with the same problem a week ago with the same trim system, so hopefully it works for you!

I'm having the same issue with a boat I recently bought. It has the Volvo Penta SX-A outdrive and has the updated pump. I bought it from the original owner who told me the pump had been replaced 5-6 years ago and the pump is the upgraded model that has the two lines that enter from the port and starboard sides instead of the all four from the top. I can't find a leak anywhere around the unit. I've made sure the fill hole is full when the leg is all the way down. I've cycled the unit up and down numerous times to bleed the system. It still leaks down whether sitting on the trailer after a few day or while running in the water. Typically, it will stay up at lower speeds while running, but falls quickly (within 30 seconds) at speeds above 30mph. I'm thinking that it may be a problem with one or both of the cylinders. Any advice on how else to bleed the system or how I can check to determine whether a cylinder is bad? Thank you.
