Mercruiser 4.3 Aluminum Manifold weight savings

Hi Everyone,

This spring I replaced my cast iron mercruiser exhaust manifolds on my 4.3LX motor. I was unable to find any definitive weight savings numbers for my setup, so i weighed my components. Here are the results:

OEM Mercruiser Manifolds + Risers =116lbs (wet joint)
HGE Aluminum Manifolds + Risers =44lbs

Total savings: 72lbs

I added a 27 series deep cycle batter this year to run the radio while parked, so I view this as a wash for me.

Yep I live in MN, land of 10,000 lakes. No plans to tow all the way to a coast.
