I am an absolute greenhorn when it comes to I/0 boats. I have a 2003 Larson 190 Lsi and I am looking for a little info.
1, What is the best power steering fluid?
2, There is a reservoir on the rear right (if you are in the boat looking at the engine compartment). What is it and what fluid shoud go there. Current fluid looks pink and is low.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Jeff

it is the vovlo penta 4.3L I have looked at the online owners manual and can not tell what that reservoir in the back is for. I am guessing maybe the trim? I know this sounds ignorant, but how do I tell what the drive is

Look for a sticker or metal tag on the motor. There should be a tag on the outdrive too.

But it should use any standard power steering fluid in the power steering pump and the red fluid is likely transmission fluid for the trim pump. If it is pink, it could be water contaminated from a leaking seal. That would also explain it being low.
