I have a 1995 Rinker with a 4.3l v6 and and an alpha one outdrive. The issue is the outdrive will not go all the way up, it will go up and down but it stops probably less than half of the way up and stops. The pump seems to be working fine as it clicks on and off and once it hits its stopping point it shuts off. The gauge also seems to be acting up, there is a small leak sometimes of fluid from the outdrive that comes out but it doesn't seem to be enough to cause this issue. I think it may be electrical but im not sure, when the outdrive is only maybe half way up the gauge is just after the last mark but not showing all the way up. Battery is charged good and it is a marine battery so its not a weak battery issue. Any idea?

Agree with DRS, there is a trailer button which brings the drive up the rest of the way. Now if this boat is old enough if could have the three button trim console, if it does let us know

My rinker has the Commander 3000 control and it is located in the lower right corner of the throttle control. The pic below shows some of the different locations

what will the switch do? does it have to be pressed in unison with the other switch? also if this doesnt work where else would I start to look to fix this issue?

The switch will raise the outdrive all the way up. After you trim up until it stops only press the trailer button to raise it further.

Ok guys found the trailer button and surprise the outdrive went all the way up(rookie move i guess) is this normal or should it go all the way up without the use of the trailer button? thanks for the help so far.

No, it's working the way it was designed. The UP should raise the drive only to the point that it's still supported by the gimbal ring. This is called the 'trim range'. Any further up is the 'tilt range'. In normal operations you should never need to trim up higher than the trim range will allow. The trailer button should only be needed when you want to put the boat on its trailer. Once you get home, remember to run the drive back down again. It's bad practise to leave the drive tilted up for extended lengths of time. Stresses the bellows and can leave water in the drive that could freeze, or at best start the corrosion process a bit quicker. ;)
