Hello, I am looking for a swim platform and we are... well... larger than average. I am looking for one that has a 350lb weight capacity and found one here (http://www.********.com/modperl/prod...-ivory&i=23044) but I really want one with two steps. I looked around the Iboats website (http://www.iboats.com/Boat-Swim-Plat...view_id.217408) and found 300 lb capacity... you think those will be sturdy enough? I'd like to stay under $200.

Side question, how close to the water do the platfroms usually sit? Thanks!

It is on a 17 ft outboard from '74.

EDIT: I guess Iboats filters certain words... that isn't very cool since all I am after is info...

Also, maybe just a ladder would work from the transom. I don;t know if the platform is totally necessary. Thoughts?

Optimally, this is what I'd like but it says 275 lb capacity...

You also need to consider if your boat can handle that much weight hanging off such a small area....

It will since I have to climb up the back from the trolling motor mount... It's a pretty climb.

Most websites that have a retail store will filter competitors website addresses, I know I do on most of mine.

Not exactly what your looking for, but in our search for a way to board my heavy father we ended up going with a telescoping gunwale ladder. It has a 400 pound capacity and holds my 380 pound father with no problems. We were looking for a transom platform/ladder also but short of custom, you will be very hard pressed to find one that will suit your needs.

This works great for us and folds up small when we are not using it.
