Volvo Penta 3.0 GLP-J ser A115602
Had an issue with the fuel pump (completely full of CR**P) and had to replace it, I also fitted a 10micron water separator as there was small amounts of water in the fuel.
No more water but engine runs really badly. Lots of fuel getting to the carbs (if I take off the top screw on the crab, the fuel shoots up a least 2 feet ).
It starts fine and ticks over no issues however when I go to accelerate it dies unless I'm fast enough on bringing t back down to tick-over.
I'm not well up on the Penta engine but have worked on engines before, can anyone help please ?

Thanks Bondo, can you help on sourcing a manual or at least a breakdown of how the carb looks. Gives me a better Idea of what I need to do :)
Cheers

Is it the demon 2bbl? I had a 2010 GLP-J that I had to rebuild the carb after only 3 seasons. If so, you can find the gasket kit on eBay for almost nothing and you can look up the Holley 2bbl and its almost the same. You can infer the rest. Learn from my mistake and note the orientation of the accelerator pump cam before disassembling or you fight that gremlin and think you rebuilt it wrong.

I've bought two from them (dog ate the first.... yes, really) and they're great.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/REBUILD-KIT-...8d574c&vxp=mtr

If you decided to go new, just buy a holley 2bbl equivalent. They're direct bolt on (only difference is the fuel inlet is on the opposite side, which is an easy mod), cheaper, and parts are easier to come by

Also, a cheap harbor freight sonic cleaner is a great purchase for this job. Fill it with simple green and put all the small parts in it

I'm having no luck with this rebuild, either its good on tick over and has a flat spot , or its no flat spot and no acceleration. I'm thinking of replacing it . can anyone please tell me if there is a direct replacement holly carb?
I'm told mine is a demon 2bbl , when I look for holly 2bbl its not quite the same so I've no idea. please help

Current carb is the demon (with no ser number anywhere)
Production number - 3869388 / TYPE - 3.0 GLP-J / SER NUMBER - A115602 Hull # US-PNYUS7B6H011
I'm really struggling here, is all I need is advise on where I can buy a new replacement or equivalent carb, ive been to both Demon and Holley and to be honest im completely lost
