Oil sheen in water

Hey guys, so this is my second season (well officially first full season) with this boat and motor/outdrive - 215 hours. First splash this season, I noticed a pretty heavy sheen/oil slick in the water at the dock right after i put in. I replaced all fluids at the end of the season last year and made sure all was tight (bellows are all new and tight). I attributed the oil sheen to the fogging oil i used to winterize as well as the coating of T-9 i put on the outdrive prior to winter. Ran fine, no issues with operation at all. Second time out, last weekend didn't notice any oil sheen on the water at all so all good. Yesterday, was out on the water and again noticed a sheen while anchored in a cove, but the sheen didn't really look like oil which is normally rainbowish, this was mostly whitish. I did just re-wax the hull with marine 31 spray wax so maybe that was it? I also checked the outdrive oil before putting in yesterday and all levels and clarity are good. All operation is excellent and no issues with going into forward/neutral/reverse and no signs of leaking anything at the outdrive when I took the boat out of the water at the end of the day yesterday.
Bilge is completely dry after 3 hours in the water cruising and anchored, nothing leaking.
So do you think this sheen could be the wax? Am I being paranoid?

Another question which may be silly but I'm a newbie at this so what O-rings do you all use at the outdrive fill, drain and dipstick locations? Does it matter?

Thanks as always...

you could have a bad power steering cooler pumping oil into the water.

Hmmm, I'll check that but would that cause the power steering fluid to diminish and wouldn't there be residual in the bilge or on the motor or outdrive?

Anyone swimming around the boat with sunblock on? Sunblock will leave a sheen on the water.

LOL, didn't think of that either. Yeah we were wearing sunblock and swimming around the back of the boat where the sheen was.

That's probably all it was then. Just check before anyone gets in the water next time to be sure.

Could be trim cylinders. Check your pump reservoir and see if color is turning pink or level is changing.
Or upon startup you could be puffing a small amount of oil through engine. It doesn't take much to put a sheen on the water.

Thanks Rusty... Will check that out although I'd think if the cylinders where leaking they'd leak out of the water as well. I trailer and keep the boat in my driveway so I think i would notice a leak at that location. The engine puffing out oil again would cause a slick that, I would think, would be colorful in the water. This slick was white. I'm tending to lean more towards the sunscreen than anything else at this point. But to be sure; I'm gonna check the power steering, trim fluids and change out the outdrive oil to make sure there's no water.
