Hello,

I need help finding a volvo part number for what I believe most people would call it the "raw water hose", it runs from the transom shield to the bolt-on water neck on the outdrive (between the driveshaft bellows and the exhaust bellows). Volvo calls it a "hose" which makes searching a real pain.

I have a new hose kit VOP 876632 in hand, BUT it is not the correct one for my DP-A drive (1986 Bayliner Command Bridge).
I have verified that the hose I have in hand is actually the part number listed above.

The hose I need is a couple inches shorter and bends in the opposite direction (it is an almost exact mirror image of what I need).
Trying to cut it and make it bend in the opposite direction is not going to work.

Thanks in advance, Roy

Item number 43 would be the correct part item you need. http://www.volvopentastore.com/Conn...on_id.317516021--store_id.366--view_id.767429

But if the latest part number doesn't seem to fit, then one other option to try is running the other older part numbers both online & EBay and see if you can find something of a better fit such as 876632, http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=876632&FORM=HDRSC2 or 875847-6, http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeig...sserschlauch-kit-875847-6/319496283-211-18626 or 854555 http://www.bing.com/search?q=854555+volvo&FORM=AWRE

Good luck.

I have the correct part number now. The first link you gave me for the Volvo diagram is not correct for a DP-A. Item 43 should be 875822 for a DP-A and not 876632 as listed.

Since this is the diagram we used when ordering, it is no wonder we got the wrong part!

Thanks for your help, Roy

The part number 875822 came from my local Volvo dealer after finding the part number listed on the diagram for DP-A was not the correct hose.
She spoke with other dealers, and even a Volvo technician (who thought the 876632 part should be right). After finding this part number, we then verified it through pictures of that part number listed for sale. It appears to be the right one and should be here tomorrow.
I do know the 876632 part is NOT correct for my 1986 DP-A drive.

Thanks for your help, Roy

Yes, this part matched what came off my outdrive!

I am done with the outdrive now - every piece of rubber, every seal, bearing, bushing, u-joint and yokes replaced.
I painted everything with Por-15 "Flexcoat" white, and it looks brand new.

Pappy, a good friend and Volvo "Master Mechanic", is super happy with how it turned out and says it is 90%

I am soooo very pleased. Watch out albacore, here we come.

A special thanks to Jo at Cal's Marine in Rocklin for all the help finding the right Volvo part numbers (no little task).

It is nice to know that every part number was still available to completely rebuild this older DP-A Duoprop !!!

Oh, there is one thing I am still missing, the sticker that says "Volvo Penta" and adheres to the back of the upper gear housing.
It is a funny shaped sticker that sits in a slight recess on the back face.

Thanks, Roy

I thought the DP-A's came out in late '88 or '89
