Volvo Penta 3.0 fuel in oil

Recently picked up my boat after being in storage at Marina Allwinner carburetor was rebuilt supposably and transom replaced. Took the boat out couple times when to change oil today noticed strong fuel smell oil is very broken down seems like much oil level was very high seems like fuel in oil. 1994 Volvo Penta 3.0 GS any ideas of cause.

Bad fuel pump. Diagram has started leaking. Normally, it sends fuel up a clear tube and dumps the fuel into the carb. There is a chance it will just let it go straight into the engine.

Ty I believe it is the carburetor was supposed to be rebuilt so I returned it to the shop for them to fix

Yes, could be that as well if your float level is to high and overflowing.
