Any help would be great. I spoke with the guys at Michigan Wheel and they said that a XHS-202 should work. Well it didn't. The thrust washer I got with the kit is for a tapered shaft, mine is not tapered. When I tried to use the thrust washer, it was not thick enough and the propeller was bound up buy the lower gear case. Is there another thrust washer I can use? The threads on the not were also not coarse enough to thread on to the shaft. If I use all the old hardware behind the prop and the old nut to attach the prop, it seams to be ok. Any experience or advice on this would be great.

I have all the original parts. What I am looking for is a thrust washer that is for a not tapered shaft. I have the original style prop on now and I am trying to put a new removable hub style prop on.

The Thrust washer on the right is the one that is on the drive now and is original. I just left the Mercruiser dealer and spoke to a guy who has been working on these for over 50 years. The solution is to use the thrust washer on the left, even though it has a tapered center hole and replace thrust washer bearing carrier with a one inch spacer. I had to use the old nut, but everything is on and will be tested tomorrow. The original thrust washer is about an inch and 3/4 thick.
Is part number 6292 tapered in the center?

Cannot say, but you could call mercstuff.com and they could advise. I would post the link but the software would delete it.
By the drawing above its 1.005 inch thick total. It to would still need a spacer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

AllDodge you were a help and I appreciate it. If the thrust washer listed is not tapered, that is the one I need with the spacer. I have sent them an email.

So I finally figured this out with the help of a Mercruiser mechanic. I needed the hub kit for an alpha on and a spacer to go behind the thrust washer in the kit. The spacer is about one inch. I also needed to purchase a new prop nut as it is much more coarse than the alpha nut. It seems to work great.
