Have a 1987 Mariner 150 hp, is a bear to cold start after its been sitting for a week or so, starts and runs great after it warms up. The only recent repair was replacement of the stator. Takes forever to get started, once started it acks like it's starving for fuel until it warms up then all is good. New quality bulb and fuel lines. When I activate the enricher it does click however my main question is should I see the plunger button on the enricher move? mine does not.

it won't move with tha key...justa 'bout every carbureted V6 Merc has is own quirks when it comes ta "cold starts"..once ya get yours figured out it becomes second nature to ya.... it takes a lotta fuel ta start one cold contrary ta what some think

try this if your not doin' it this way now...
trim all tha way in..
pump bulb up till firm
hit start with key pushed in (enrichner engaged) till motor burps, farts or otherwise tries ta start. (it may start here).. release key
if it didn't start then do this next....
raise tha fast idle just a touch..
turn ta start WITHOUT tha enrichner engaged, ya may need ta "bump" tha enrichner again here..
trim motor back ta almost level immediately when it starts...if it seems like it might wanna die jus "bump" tha enrichner again........

did this start "after" you had tha stator replaced?

clicky is good.. you can check by pullin' tha line goin' to tha middle carb and engagin' tha enrichner....bottom line on tha enrichner..
