no thrust washer taper?

hello, I have a question about my prop shaft, I am replacing the prop on my 88 searay with a 3.0 merc 4cyl

there was a spacer washer that was like .25x.25 (you can see where the spacer washer was its cleaner on the shaft)
so do I just put the spacer washer back on and butt the prop hub up to this? I don't see how a thrust washer fits on the prop shaft

Looks like you have an early style drive which probably uses props and washers in the below pic

Only need a tapered one if the shaft is tapered. You have a lip there to support the thrust of the prop hub without the need for a tapered washer. On a tapered prop shaft, that lip isn't there.
